Sculpture
The Idolised
This sculptural piece is my critique of the commodification of the female form in modern society. The choice of cardboard as the medium is deliberate; its fragile nature speaks to the disposability and the structural choices which depict the hollowness with which sex is often viewed, a stark contrast to the reverence it symbolizes.
Throughout the creation of this artwork, I reflected on the paradox of elevating women as icons of desire whilst simultaneously reducing them to objects of fleeting significance. The cardboard, with its textured layers and susceptibility to wear, mirrors the layered but ultimately fragile constructs of modern ideals surrounding femininity and sexuality. I hope that this sculpture provokes a conversation about the ways in which society shapes, consumes, and discards the identities of women.

The Vessel
Ceramic Vase inspired by Venus de Milo. The symbolism etched onto the figure is reminiscent of old Lithuanian folklore, specifically the sun worship and the serpent which is considered the messenger of the Sun Goddess. The body, the flesh, is a vessel for out blood, roots and culture.

Balance
A piece representing the identity struggle that many third culture children face growing up, managing the often contradicting expectations of their home and lived cultures. Walking on eggshells, trying to find the balance between who they are, and who they are expected to be on both sides of their identity.
